Willem van Haecht. Apelles painting Campaspe (‘Apelles schildert Campaspe’, ‘Alexander de Grote bezoekt het atelier van Apelles’), ca. 1630 (Mauritshuis, The Hague).
Oil on wood: 104.9 x 148.7 cm. Only three works are known by Willem van Haecht. All depicting the collection of Antwerp art collector Cornelis Van der Geest (1555-1638). From 1628 onwards Van Haecht was the official curator of this collection. Bonus points if you can identify more than 5 paintings.
