There are four versions known of this same painting: Gustavianum University Art Collections in Uppsala/ Sweden, North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh/ USA, Fundación Banco Santander in Madrid/ Spain and Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht/ Netherlands. The one in Uppsala is generally considered to be the (most) original. The fact that it has been copied so many times, by Aertsen himself or by his studio, indicates that this was a famous and popular work.
