Robert Campin. A Woman, ca. 1435 (National Gallery, London).



Oil and egg tempera on oak: 40.6 x 28.1 cm. Unidentified sitter. Part of a double portrait ‘A Man and a Woman’, presumably husband and wife.

Gustav Klimt. Lady with Hat and Feather Boa (‘Dame mit Hut und Federboa’), 1909 (private collection, Austria).


Oil on canvas: 69 x 55 cm. Similar provenance as ‘Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I’ and ‘Unfinished Portrait of Ria Munk III’. Confiscated by the Nazi regime during WWII. After the war the painting was incorporated into the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere, Vienna. Restituted in 2001 to heir’s estate at the recommendation of an Austrian government committee. Then privately sold for over € 20.000.000 (ca. US$ 24.500.000).

Oil on canvas: 59 x 73 cm. Model presumed to be Marie-Louise O'Murphy (1737-1814), mistress to Louis XV. Earlier version at the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum Cologne (with a book and two roses): here
